What in the hell brought Kastorin out into the jungle? he desperately wanted to be out at sea. The only water out at sea was below him. In the jungle everywhere was wet and dripping. It was late at night, and he lay up against a tree. Even if he could get a fire started he wouldn't have. They were laying in wait to raid a Venture Company operation that'd give them enough blue singing crystals they could get the Green Dawn repaired from a recent stint just outside of Stormwind.

Several of his crewmen were out around the goblin encampment and were waiting for dawn to hit before they attacked. Of course with the dark rain clouds it was hard to tell if or when morning would ever come.

Kas had given up trying to listen for patrols or trying to keep an eye on the encampment itself. It was too dark and the rain made it too noisy to hear anything. So he just lounged like sitting int he middle of a dangerous forest was an everyday thing. He even hummed a bit to himself.

Ever since meeting her in Booty Bay a few weeks ago, he often thought about that girl Ridell. He honestly hoped she didn't get murdered by her employer, she was deadly, but damn was she sexy. He hadn't been able to keep his mind on anyone else.

Poor Janine...he thought he came close to really loving her until Ridell popped in his mind. He hadn't told Janine yet but he was just wrong. He knew she'd take it hard but she'd get over him. It wasn't like they were married or anything. He chuckled to himself, if only women were more like the sea, he'd be a bit more lucky.

Besides Janine wanted him to settle down, stay in port with her and be happy. He'd never be able to be happy like that. The sea was his life and there wasn't a woman alive who would ever keep it from him. Or at least that's what he told himself.

Rid had been following the crew since they got back to Stranglethorn. Her eyes narrowed through the rain as she silently stalked Kas. The person who gave her the orders was dead, but he seemed like such a hunt.. She couldnt pass it up.

Now with several vials of liquid along her belt, and her trusty daggers as well, she crept slightly closer, watching him. What was her obsession with looking for him? Did she like h-.. No. Thats silly. He broke so many hearts, just like she had done to her by another.

She didnt like trying to be stealthy in the rain, as her footsteps always showed no matter what

Despite having given up, Kas' ears still twitched now and then at other sounds in the jungle. There were raptors not far off and he didn't want one creeping up on him. He suddenly yawned big and tilted his head up in the rain. While he hated that much water, he did enjoy the rain on occasion. It sounded beautiful and could be very relaxing.

A little too relaxing it seemed, as he found himself hard pressed to stay awake. He yawned again and tries to shake it off. He leaned his head back on the tree and he tried to keep his eyes open.

"Eh...bloody'll..."

He muttered as his eyes closed and he soon fell asleep.

Rid grinned slightly as she saw him doze off, and crept across the road, moving closer.

She had a free shot right then and there. She could kill him before he made a sound, or even trickle a poison down his throat.. but she just stood there. Watching him.

Nearby she heard several horses running along the road and jumped behind a nearby tree, only a few feet from Kas.

They were all Stormwind guards, and they seemed to be going after Kastorins crew.

Kas was stirred by the sounds of horses and quickly fell to his side not to be seen. Once they passed he got up in a crouch and moved to the road. He watched the Stormwind Guards run by and cussed loudly.

He was about to jump out of cover and go to the aid of his crew...but coming down the road at a slower and quieter pace was the Captain of the troop. There was an awkward silence for a moment as Kas and the Captain stared at each other. Then the Captain yelled out and Kas turned and ran into the forest at top speed and could be heard yelling:

"Shite! Cov'r's blown! Scatt'r!!!!"

Most of his crew still heard him from over the rain and started to run back to their fall back point in Booty Bay. Kas however was intent on having the guards chase him and have his crew get away. He swore he smelled something familiar though...just before waking up...

The guards all heard Kas yell and turned around, dismounting and chasing after him. Rid jumped up into the branches, moving from one to the other, following closely behind the group.

One was coming up close on him, and Rid took one of her throwing stars, and threw it at him, it stick into his blade, which made him stop and try to get it out.

She then rushed forward a bit more, trying to get in front of Kas, before hanging from one branch, and grabbing the back of his shirt, pulling him up with a grunt to the branch she was on.

She wasnt used to pulling a person up, and felt her shoulder suddenly get a sharp pain, but still managed not to drop him

Kas wasn't looking back, but was suddenly looking...up as he was dragged into a tree. He didn't look to see who it was but figured it must have been Devon pulling his arse out of the fire again. He grabbed a hold of the branches and hauled himself up and watched the guards run right on by. He grinned and whispered.

"Ha...buncha idi'ts eh?...Thanks mate...wasn't sure how ta g't away from'm this time.."

He turned his head to smirk at Devon and try to see him in the dark.

Rid didnt say a word. Why did she save him? She just held onto the branch until everyone left.

"I-I.."

She wasnt sure what she was trying to say, but suddenly jumped off the branch and ran off, ducking behind a tree, staring off into the distance.

She was falling for this man.. She couldnt be. She should of just wanted him dead yet she saved his life instead.

She took off towards Booty Bay, to take shelter from the storm, to try and clear her head

He blinked. That wasn't Devon. Who the hell...he didn't have any women on the crew. He swung down to go after her but she had disappeared. He cursed. He knew he should get back to Booty Bay and turned to do so...and came face to face with a jungle raptor who was snarling slightly.

It had been attracted by all the noise and seemed to grin hungrily at Kas.

"Ah come'n...tha aint fair none...I 'ate run'n..."

It snarled at him and again he took off, this time deeper into the jungle and away from Booty Bay. He didn't get too far until he tripped on a root, heard a loud snap that must have been his ankle...as pain flared through it. He hit the ground and started rolling. The raptor tried to follow him but he was lost into the underbrush...

Then with a loud THUD! he fell into a hole at the bottom of the slight hill he had been rolling down. He blinked up a few times at the hole as water dripped down into the small cave before he lost consciousness.

Rid was soon in Booty Bay, quickly going to the Inn, slamming down several gold on the counter before walking up and squeezing into one of the small goblin sized beds.

She curled up on her side, wrapping her arms around her legs.

Why? Why didnt she just let him get caught, the humans could of dealt with him!

But she saved him from them.. She wasnt sure why still.. but she slowly fell asleep

Most of the crew had made it back to Booty Bay and were thankful; the goblins wouldn't let the Stormwind guards into their city. They gathered up at the tavern and waited for their Captain who after several hours didn't return. A few of the crew had gathered upstairs and unknowingly outside of Ridell's room.

-"Where's da Cap'n?"-

~"'e ain returned yet...think tha guards got'm?"~

-"Capn' Kas? Guards? Are ya daft! Ha!"-

~"It could happen! Or maybe onna those raptors got'm...he should be'ere by now..."~

The pair continued to argue a bit on how great Kas is but nothing important came out of it.

Rid woke up from the mens talking and stood up.

"Keep it down will ya!"

She had heard them say Kas wasnt back yet

".. I saved his ass back there.. He couldnt just walk to Booty Bay alone?"

She groaned as stretched

"Instead of just standing here why dont you go look for him"

Both of the men looked at Ridell startled. Neither one seemed to understand how someone so small could save Kas, let alone why she was there...until she was recognized.

~"Bah! She dinna g't left ya daft bastard! Cap'n took pity on'r and brought her back after best'n her at sea!"~

-"What are'ya talk'n about? She and the Cap'n got together, then'e through'r off tha boat!"-

"Shut up! Both of you! First off, nothing happened, we went out, we were evenly matched in combat, and we came back.

Second. While you two are arguing your Captain could be dying.

Third.. If one of you starts arguing again Im going to make sure you can never pleasure a girl ever again, got it?!"

She glared back and forth between them

Both of the men snapped their jaws shut at that and even stood a little straighter. They looked at each other in fleeting glances before one of them slowly said.

~"We dun...know where he was...tha jungles huge...if'n he was lost...we'd never find'm....ma'am!"~

He hastily added the ma'am in hopes to save his nethers.
