At that small word, her cheeks got quite a bit redder even though it was getting dark and harder to see it. She opened her eyes slowly to look at him, and whispered

"I-Im.."

As if guilty, she looked away

"S-Sorry.."

He blinked a few times slowly and shook his head.

"Y'aint got...noth'n t'be sorry for...tha was...good..."

He licked his lips a few times before biting his bottom one and just staring at her silhouette in the darkness.

Rid slowly backed away, before finally turning away. She felt almost in shock, her hand was gripping at her chest as she tried to slow her breathing. After several moments, she just stood there, not saying a word, not doing anything but just.. stare out at the darkness, until finally saying

"I c-cant do this.."

And she went running down under the deck, towards his cabin. All that uncertainess she had since she was almost killed by the only person she loved, had rushed back to her

Her words made Kas wince visibly, but it was too dark for anyone to see. He swallowed at the hardening lump in his throat. The moon slightly appeared on the opposite horizon and it's light glinted on his face for a moment which caught the hint of tears before he just shrugged and stalked up to the wheel and dismissed the man their. He corrected their course a bit and sailed on, as he always did.

Rid basically collapsed into a corner once she got to his cabin, curling up in a tight ball, unable to hold back her tears, her shaking, her cries..

One hand was wrapped around her stomach, the other was back gripping at her chest, unable to think straight, her head still swimming with that kiss, but she couldnt stop all those thoughts from before suddenly hitting her like a truck

Whatever Kas was feeling, he had it buried deep as he could and focused hard on the seas. He drastically wished for rough weather to give him something more he could concentrate on but the wind was just strong enough to get them moving fairly swiftly and the skies were clear and twinkling with stars.

Without realizing time passed by, Kas spotted a dock and headed for it. He recognized it as being the inlet for Southshore. He debated for a short while but finally shrugged and left the ship heading for it. Some of the men would like to get off and travel by land to get their loot home and others would just be eager to spend it.

Rid had stopped crying after a long while, but didnt move, her heart was beating hard, heavily against her hand, as she stared at nothing in particular.

She wanted to go up to Kas.. explain why she ran off.. but she felt so weak.. so tired.. she didnt want to move

After a few minutes they were tethered to the dock and almost half the crew were either joyously heading to the tavern and shops, or sneaking through the shadows silently. The other half stayed on board until Kas told them they'd stay the night here and he'd watch the ship.

Strangely enough though, he didn't want to stay on the ship. It just suddenly felt constricting so he moved on to the dock and just sat on the edge of it, next to the ship and stared out at the ocean.

Almost 30 minutes passed before Rid stood, shakily. She knew the ship had docked, and went up, stealthed.

As soon as she got up onto the dock, she saw Kas sitting there, and crept silently over to him, sitting near him, both wanting to let him know she was there and not.

The look in his eyes was so distant, there was a chance he wouldn't have known she was there even if she was wearing bright yellow and squawking like a hawkstrider. His feet dangled over the edge and swayed back and forth. His eyes were locked on the reflection of his own face in the water.

He thought how strange it looked for that man to look so sad...especially for someone else. He shrugged a little to himself, as if he was talking to himself in his head.

Another several minutes passed, before Rid took a deep breath, and said quietly

"I didnt mean to hurt you.."

She slowly became visible in the moonlight, just staring at him, her eyes were quite sad, and she said even quieter

"I shouldnt.. let my past.. do that to me"

There was a silence for a few moments then he remembered to breath and it came out in a loud squeak like a mouse.

"Lady!...y'got...a real good...talen'...for scare'n tha shite outta me...."

He fell back on the dock and breathed heavily and rubbed his face.

"Lords..."

His arms dropped and one hand rested gently on her back.

"Force of.. habit.."

Rids green eyes watched him, her arms were crossed over her stomach, looking nervous and jittery, obviously not like she normally is.

"didnt know if you ..were mad.."

Kas shook his head and placed his hand over his eyes...for a moment before glancing at her then hiding them again.

"Why would I b'mad? I'm j'st sad for ya...I must be daft but...'urts t'know 'ow bad y'were 'urt by some chump."

He couldn't stop himself from slowly running his hand up her back a little.

Her eyes slowly closed, comforted from simply his hand on her back

"I swore to never .. get attached to someone again but.."

She didnt finish her sentence, it was hard to think of getting close to someone again, as if just getting close to Kas would mean she would get hurt down the road

He didn't remove his hand but he kept his hand over his eyes and breathed slowly.

She grinned just slightly

"Im sure that could be arranged.. Although.."

She slowly stood, and offered her hand to help him up

"I would accept a drink"

She said, nodding towards town

He moved his hand from his face and blinked up at her. He shrugged but took her hand and stood up.

"A drink eh? Tha mean this's a date?"

His slow and easy grin started on his lips.

She winked at him, and began to walk into town towards the Tavern, but before that, she pulled the daggers from her belt and stabbed them into the dock, and they both seemed to vanish as she let go of them.

Kal followed after her and blinked at the daggers.

"Y'know...y'r full'a tricks lass..."

He walked up to walk next to her and lead her into the tavern. He looked around then pointed at the crewman who had been giving him lip earlier and ordered him to watch the ship. He looked thoroughly disappointed since two girls had taken interest in him and tried to follow, before one of the older crewmen caught their attention. Kas shook his head.

"Oi..."

Rid chuckled a bit, and walked to the bartender, ordering 2 mugs of the local brew, before walking over to the fireplace and sitting down in front of it crosslegged, putting her hands out to warm up.

She listened to everything in the bar, but it seemed she could mostly let her guard down for the time being

Kas talked with a few of the people he knew but soon enough settled down next to Ridell and took up the mug of brew and drank some down. He coughed a bit and muttered something about dead taste buds before looking to the fire.

"So...er...y'live in Silvermoon...?"

She shrugged a little, and drank some of her drink as well

He suddenly blinked as he thought of something and looked down into his mug.

Rid raised her eyebrow and looked at him

"If you mean aside from a good friend.. You'd better stop those thoughts. Hes just glad I saved him, been my only friend for years now. His wife is a nice lady, kids like a darn cannon, destructive"

She chuckled to herself, and waved for another 2 mugs
