-"That is quite strange.. because youve never told me about this boy before Rema, you always tell me about your friends.. but for one to just randomly show up in our home without you telling me is unheard of.."-

She tapped her chin

-"What is today?"-

"Uhm.. tuesday?"

-"No.. its monday, first day of school"-

Rema slowly blinked, shaking her head, rubbing her temples

"this is crazy.."

Time travel...? Could it be possible...? Kal mentally shook his head. Couldn't be. Her mother didn't seem to even be hearing anything about her sister's deaths nor the storm. Kal feigned a small smile....

"I need to go upstairs for something...Rema could you show me where the bathroom is...?"

Kal looked to Rema hoping they'd get a moment alone...and maybe get to keep an eye on her sisters.

Rema nodded slowly, her head still hurting quite a bit as she excused herself from the table. Her mother took their dishes and went over to the sink to wash them.

She basically ran up the stairs towards the washroom, her sisters just ignoring her as usual as they talked in their room.

As Kal got into the washroom she looked at him, shaking her head, pacing

"This is crazy.. its impossible.."

Kalbert thanked her mother for breakfast then hurried after. He frowned a bit and crossed his arms, trying to keep his voice low.

"I've heard of people g-going back in time...b-but this can't be right...she didn't even hear you when you asked her about a spell...but...y-your sisters...we should watch over them...maybe we can save them Rema..."

Rema looked up at him, and nodded slowly. If this was the day before, then they probably could. She didnt know how it could be, but if there was a chance, she wasnt going to question it. She quickly opened the door, and walked over to her room where her sisters were still chatting. They looked at her but didnt say anything, as they just continued their conversation as usual.

Rema sat on her bed which was a bit messy in comparison to theirs, and she pulled out a book, pretending to read it, but was watching them out of the corner of her eye, putting down another book for Kal to do the same

Kal nodded to her sisters, suddenly bashful despite the situation and sat on the bed next to Rema. He picked up the book and tried to keep himself from actually reading it as he glanced over at her sisters now and again.

The girls kept to themselves, but then suddenly stopped talking, staring into nothing, there eyes a bit wide

"G-Girls?"

They didnt say anything, didnt move. She looked at Kal, unsure of what to do, but then a deafening screech made her cover her ears, and..

Rema sat up suddenly on the couch, drenched in sweat. She was staring into the darkness of the early morning, breathing shakily and heavily, her hand gripping over her chest.

It was all so real.. It had to have been real.. but here she was.. just her and Kal again.

She began to sob, pulling the blanket to her face to bury into it

Kal dropped the book he was pretending to read at the screech and turned to look at the girls. strangely enough the room was fuzzy and almost seemed like it was fading away. He felt himself slipping off and became surrounded by darkness.

He floated there for some time shivering and cold, staring at nothing, wondering what had happened. He yelled out for Rema or anything but nothing responded.

In the waking world Kal still slept until Rema's sobbing pulled him from the blankness and he stirred and groaned as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. He blinked and rubbed his eyes until he realized what the sound was that woke up.

Comprehension came to him and he slid up onto the couch next to Rema and put his arm around her, trying to awkwardly comfort her and make sense of what just happened.

Rema leaned on him, shaking, confused, and very scared. She was trying to piece together what she had just seen, heard, felt, but none of it made sense.

She clung to the blanket, but was leaning almost her full weight on him, and muttered between sobs

"This.. is.. crazy.."

Kal held her close, though he didn't really realize that was what he was doing. His hand rubbed her shoulders while his free hand found one of hers, taking hold of it. He stared out at nothing, thinking over the things he saw, the feelings he had. Finally after several moments he said quietly.

"We shared a dream...the spirits...must have showed it to us...I don't know why....but its over now...we're awake..."

"B-But.. w-why? It.. It didnt give us any.. n-new information.."

Her hand gripped his quite tightly. She thought..even for a little, she had her family back, and then suddenly, they were all gone, torn away from her, again, for the second time in 2 days.

Tears ran down her cheeks, she couldnt stop crying, it just felt good in a way

"I don't know Rema...I just..don't know..."

He held her close as she cried, thinking they must have wanted this, but why? We're they just that malicious and cruel? Or was there some small detail they were supposed to take away from it?

Kal tried to pour over what he could remember of the dream but it was fading fast in his memory. He closed his eyes tightly trying to relive bits of it, but they were fleeting. He sighed quietly and continued to hold and squeeze Rema's hand.

His eyes slowly opened and looked around the house, he wasn't sure what time it was, but it was still a bit dark outside. It must be early morning and the sun soon to burst over the horizon. He wanted to tell Rema they should leave and get ready to find her mother, but he wasn't willing to let her go just yet.

After almost 30 minutes, Rema slowly pulled away, wiping her eyes with her sleeve as she looked around, her eyes obviously settling on the kitchen a couple times, as if her mother was there, washing the dishes.

She sighed deeply, looking at Kal with her bloodshot eyes, still sniffling a bit

"We should.. g-get.. going.."

Kal squeezed her hand tightly and nodded a little. He looked around again at the living room and finally set his eyes on the window. The sun started to rise and cast it's warm glow on the city and into the window.

"Is there anything you need to get before we go...?"

Rema blushed slightly at feeling him squeeze her hand, not realizing how hard she had been squeezing his, and quickly let go, standing up to stretch, to take several deep breaths, to try and stay calm

"D-Dont think so.."

She didnt want to go back upstairs anyways

Kal stood up as well and nodded.

"Alright...there's...a few things I need from my house then...we'll get started."

He went over to the door and opened it for her.

"Do you have any thoughts on where to start looking for her? Where did you see her last?"

Rema picked up the bag she had gotten from upstairs, and also her backpack. She nodded slowly

"Theres a place.. near the docks.. I have a feeling there'll be something there.."

She tried not to look directly at him, obviously embarassed of how she just was, not having really cried in front of someone before

Kal smiled a little and nodded.

"Ok Rema."

He didn't know why, but he reached over and took her hand for a moment, just a few seconds then let go, blushing a little. He then set off, leaving her house and trying not to look around too much at the other houses that were hit by the storm.

People had already begun to clean up and look for valuables in the wreckage of their homes but Kal tried not to look or feel guilty. Soon enough they were in front of his house which was damaged but still standing.

"I'll...go in...you don't have too...."

Rema did as he had, trying not to look around at everyone, the damaged houses. As they reached his house, she shook her head

"I'll..go in too"

She knew he would probably need the support

Kal did as they had outside and tried not to look around too much. He also tried to pretend it was someone else' house. That it wasn't his things that were strewn about, smashed and otherwise destroyed.

The stairs were undamaged for the most part and he asked Rema to wait there as he jogged upstairs and went straight to his room. The windows had blown in but he manged to find his bag, some clothes and a jacket. HE went back out into the hall and stopped as he looked at his parents room. He swallowed and trying to not look at anything went inside.

It was mostly untouched strangely enough. The shudders on the windows seemed to have closed and protected the windows. He looked at nothing in the immaculate room and went to his mother's bedside. He grabbed the family photo there and stuffed it in his bag before going back downstairs and looking at Rema. His face looked tired and sad but he did all he could to hide it.

Rema didnt say anything, simply nodded to him. She began to walk west, towards the water, the docks. Her and her mother went there quite often, they knew a secret spot, a spot no one else knew about.

She could only hope it was still that way, and hope that her mother left her some clue to where to go

Kal started to follow then stopped and ran into the ruined study for a minute or two before running out and catching up with Rema. He hefted his pack and whatever he did and seen in the study had brought tears to his eyes.

He walked silently next to her, rubbing his eyes for a few moments before allowing himself to glance around at the sides of the road where he saw that the storm hadn't hit anything past his house nearly as hard as it everything before it.

Rema didnt ask him what he had run off for, assuming it was something important, and she wasnt about ready to talk yet anyways. As they got to the river, she rushed down a bit, to the railing. Taking a glance left and right, she climbed over it, and looked at Kal

"Just come straight down.. trust me"

She then climbed down the bars, and then dropped a couple feet to a platform that was right at the waters height, so her shoes promptly got filled with water, but she didnt care, as she walked under the walkway, to a hollowed out area

Kal slowly climbed over the rail and looked down. At first he thought it was straight to the water but saw her standing on the platform. He bit his lip a little afraid, but carefully dropped down to follow her. He was thankful his boots were waterproofed as he came up behind her.

"What's...down here Rema?"

Rema pulled a flashlight from her bag, and shone it around, it revealed a long dark tunnel, and a switch to their right, which she pressed. The platform behind them rose up about a meter, to stop anymore water coming in

"Its an old drainage pipe."

She began to walk down the tunnel, still about half a foot of water in the tunnel but she didnt care

"Me and mom used to come down here a lot, its very private"
