Oceans of blue

He dreamed of the most important memories they shared. Meeting each other. Her trying to kill him and him outwitting her. How they fell in love...their first kiss...the first time they laid together...The drug didn't need to keep him calm and sleeping with those dreams in his head.

A few hours passed and he slowly woke up. His head was pounding rather loudly but he smiled. In his arms was Ridell and he remembered it all. He remembered the night before but still he just could not stop smiling being in her arms.

"...'ey love..."

At his voice, Rid jumped slightly and looked up quickly, looking at his face, and slowly smiled, seeing him back to normal, as she rested her head back down, but now it was facing his

"Hey.."

She leaned up a bit, gently kissing him, looking quite tired

Kas kissed her back, and held the kiss for several long moments before letting it go. He whispered.

"Didja stay up all this time? Silly lady...y'shoulda rest'd too ya?"

He reached up to trail his fingers along her cheek gently, still grinning, though his mind wasn't far away from thinking about Janine being in her somewhere.

Rid nodded a bit

"I tried.. Couldnt.."

Her eyes closed as he touched her cheek, and she pressed her cheek a bit more to his hand

"Was worried.."

Kas stroked her skin softly and lovingly.

"Of all tha people t'worry bout love...y'dun gotta worry...bout me...I survive tha island rememb'r? Sure I need'd ya t'stop me from be'n a snarl'n poochy...but y'did...y'lway save me..."

Smiling a bit more, from his voice and his touch, she turned her head to kiss his palm a few times

"I can still be worried all I want.."

She said with a small wink

Kas couldn't help but smile at that. He closed his eyes for a moment before looking back at her and running his fingers over her lips.

"Wha time a day is't?"

"Uhm.."

She closed her eyes, her head quickly calculating the time they spent travelling

"Morning.. should be coming up soon anyways."

She nuzzled his chest tiredly

Kase nodded slowly and rested his hand on her cheek while the other rested on her back. His grin slowly faded as he stared up at the ceiling of the basement.

"So...wha d'we do now? ...How do we g't a cure...wha do we do with Jan...where's Tha girl and tha poor man...?"

Rid sighed slightly

"I.. I dont know.."

She didnt know how to answer any of that, she didnt know what they could do, or how to do it, she muttered

"Im sorry."

Kas rubbed her back slowly, staring up at the ceiling still.

"well someth'n'll come up...or we could always j'st...take tha easy way out..."

He moved his hand around her small body and hugged her as he suggested it.

She opened her eyes again as he said that, and shook her head

"I dont even want to know what you're thinking love.."

She nuzzled her head on his chest up under his chin, and kissed it gently

"we'll make it through this.. we'll straighten this all out.. and we'll.. have the life .. that was stolen.."

As she said that, her hand slipped to her stomach, her eyes closing, painfully ,thinking about it

This time, he too looked very pained at the thought of what had happened. He never wanted a family until Ridell started talking about it, and he certainly didn't want to try and be a father. Still, when she talked about it so long ago, he deeply wanted it but now...now Janine had taken it away.

He pushed those thoughts away and hugged her tighter still.

"W'got lots of stuff in 'ere...everyth'n but food...even got a wee alchem'st set for y'to use in tha corner there..."

She nodded slowly, and whispered

"Just.. a little longer.."

She didnt want to move, didnt want to even think of moving yet, not while he was there

Kas closed his eyes and grinned slightly.

"Good. Cause when I say alchem'st set I mean there's a jar...well a'right there's two jars...and a neat lil stand tha y'can put'm on...t'like...stand'm up r'someth'n..."

Without moving and knowing she'd not look till later, he waved towards the corner he was talking about. Where in fact there was quite a complicated set up. It looked to be the newest addition to the safe house...and clearly put there for her if he had to ever bring her there.

Rid grinned a bit, she could tell the joke in his voice, and kissed his chin again

"Mmhmm.."

She nuzzled his chest more, her fingers though were still slowly stroking her stomach, where before there had been a small bump, and the thought ate away at her

Kas grinned at the small kiss and slowly drug his hands down her arm to take the hand that was rubbing her stomach. He whispered very softly to her.

"We c'n and w'll try again...an we'll be togeth'r this time..."

Rid began to blink at tears in her eyes, nodding, nuzzling his chest, until her eyes closed tightly, and tears ran down her cheeks.

She had lost Kas, and then she had lost her child, and even though she had Kas back, she was still missing that one thing, and it pained her so bad

"I miss him.. "

Kas felt tears sting his own eyes as he held her. His voice was very soft and quiet.

"You'll meet'm again...he ain gone...he's j'st wait'n fer tha right time...he'll be back..."

He wasn't sure he believed that himself, but he wanted too so badly.

Kas slowly sat up as she got up and set to work. He smiled a little at her determination and moved over to the bed, just sitting on it and looking around the small room. So many things that were once part of his life. Books, journals, maps. Shiny trinkets. Pictures. He smiled a little and shook his head and looked over at Ridell to simply say.

"I love you."

Rid looked over her shoulder as she spoke, watching him for several moments before whispering

"I love you too.."

She smiled, even the slightest, before looking back towards the vials as she was mixing several things from her pouch

Kas smiled a bit more and stood up stretching. He pulled off his shirt and went over to her.

"M'gonna sneak out for a dip...dun work to hard...j'st be outside...yell if'n'ya need me love."

He leaned down to kiss her cheek, then headed outside. He looked down the beach and saw people moving about the town in the distance but he knew they'd only see mist when they looked back at the house. He smirked a bit and undressed the rest of the way, and went out into the water to wash and swim.

Rid barely heard him as she worked at the vials, the combinations, one by one, putting seperate vials aside on a rack, until she had about 8, then she mixed a little of each, one by one, into a single vial, which she swirled around and looked at, a thick, black, gooey substance

"This damn well better work.."

She muttered, and drank it, a disgusted look quickly crossingher face
