Oceans of blue

Kas held her hand tightly and took her other hand in his once she held it up. He shook his head slowly.

"love...come'n now...dun be get'n sick on me...just puke't out or someth'n...come'n..."

He was biting his lip and fretting over it, just waiting for it to be over, not knowing what else to do for her.

Rid closed her eyes slowly, tightly, her jaw clenched as she suddenly sat up, letting go of his hands to grip at her chest, her mouth hanging open trying to get in a good breath of air that wouldnt come, until finally, her body stopped shaking, and she fell against Kas, breathing slowly and deeply, muttering

"S-So.. t-that potion.. had a couple side e-effects"

Kas looked on helplessly but held her close once she collapsed on him. His touch was gentle but strong and unwilling to let her go. He slowly rubbed her back and nodded a little.

"Yea love...guess y'could say someth'n like that...wha did it do? Did it work?"

Rid just knew, it couldnt of been cured, she could feel that slight pain in her stomach still, and sighed

"No.."

She felt good that she could breathe normally again, and nuzzled his shoulder a little, whispering

"I'll.. figure out something"

Kas closed his eyes and held her tighter to keep from whimpering. His worry was welling up inside of him and making him feel a little sick to his stomach. He whispered as well.

"Love...w'need fresh blood...dun like t'feed off the villagers...some of'm are distant family but...w'can't keep feed'n on each other..."

She nodded slowly, he was right, and she knew she desperatly needed a good feed. A good kill. She weakly began to get up, looking almost drunken as she did, her legs feeling quite wobbly

"Im in.. no condition to hunt.."

Kas stood up slowly and took her arm gently and looked around. He slowly smiled and kissed her cheek.

"Whatcha in the mood for? Young...old...man...woman? I'll getcha whatever y'need love..."

Rid shook her head slowly, feeling dizzy

"Anything.."

She muttered, leaning on him more then before. She felt the sun burning her a bit again and muttered

"Going.. back to the house.."

"Righ...go downstairs...lay down...no more concoct'ns..."

He kissed her gently on the lips before winking and slowly heading off into the mist to go and find someone to bring back for her. He didn't like feeding on anyone in his home town but he knew they'd have too regardless.

Kas worked his way into the village were it seemed only normal folk lived and worked. Mostly fisherman and a farmer or two there wasn't that many people but they all seemed to have that look that Kas had. The look that just said he was not like everybody else. A few people even mimicked his grin but none of them came close to it's charm.

It took him a few trips through the shadows of the town before he found the woman he was looking for. She had aged considerably since the last time he fed on her which must have been twenty or thirty years.

He felt his teeth throb as he remembered stalking her in the past and tasting her. She had nothing on Ridell but she was good nonetheless. He had fed on her so many times that she seemed to sense what was happening as he lured her into an alley. The darkness embraced them and he touched her cheek.

She did not speak and could not remember the times past but she seemed to know it would be alright. Kas made to kiss her, but his lips ventured past her lips not touching them. His lips were for Ridell and Ridell only but the woman's neck...

For the woman she dreamed of an amazing love. Of a romance so blissful she didn't sense herself being picked up and leads to the house on he outskirts of the village, nor entering and being placed gently next to another woman with whom her lover only had eyes for.

Kas laid a hand on the woman and spoke softly to Ridell.

"Love...I got'ya some'ne...be easy on'r if y'can be..."

Rids eyes slowly opened, as she looked at the woman. She felt bad, to feed on someone innocent, but knew, there couldnt be a convict for miles and miles.

With a slight groan, Rid rolled over onto her stomach, laying a little bit on the woman, looking down at her

"Just.. need a little.."

She muttered quietly, before leaning down, taking a deep breath of her scent, before her teeth grew a little, and she pierced into the womans neck, her lips closing around the wound as she began to drink

The woman felt herself slipping away but she smiled contently. Soon enough she was unconscious and lost in her dreams as Kas slowly stroked Ridell's arm and smiled a little at her.

"Feel'n a bit bett'r love..?"

Rid nodded, pressing her hand harder to the womans neck, still staring down at her, feeling slightly guilty but didnt show it.

She looked up at Kas, her eyes glowing a full green as they normally would

"Y-Yeah.."

Smiling, Kas nodded and said in a quiet voice.

"Dun worry...I feed on'r whenever I'm 'ere...no one really liked'r...she was always alone...grow'n up she was tease'd and outcast...so once I was turn'd...and had to go away from'ya...I fed on'r...let'r live out'r fantasies so she'd be happy f'r a lil while..."

He slowly strokes the woman's hair and she murmured happily and Kas smiled just a little.

"Figured...j'st cause I was curs'd...dinna mean I couldn't use't to help some folk y'know...?"

Rid noded slowly, moving away from the woman a bit, and then looked at him

"What about you..? Do you need to feed..?"

Her arms slowly wrapped around her legs, looking slightly nervous, almost guilty for feeding on the woman, but she wasnt sure why

Looking away from the woman, Kas shook his head and smiled at Ridell. He saw her expression and guessed at how she was feeling.

"It's a'right love...the people in tha village are laid back folk...na much can phase'm y'know? This poor thing'll wake up later on in'r bed...think'n she had tha most wonderf'l night of'r life..."

He glanced at the woman again before getting up and moving over to sit down next to Ridell and put his arm around her.

"Dun worry none Rid'll..."

She nodded quickly, before looking at him, and leaning gently on him

"O-Okay.."

Her eyes closed, her whole body was shaking slightly, but why? She wasnt sure.. and it worried her a bit

Smiling a little Kas slowly rubbed her arm and held her close to him.

" 'ow long y'think it'll take tha potion to wear off...t'try anoth'r one?...or...y'got'r in y'r head...can't ya...try an get inta her know-how and find tha antidote?"

Kas rested his head gently on hers, trying to keep her warm and comforted.

Rid shook her head slowly, unsure if that was even possible

"I.. dont know.."

She shuddered a little and pressed even closer, nuzzling to his shoulder

"I.. just dont.. Im.. sorry"

"Shh dun be sorry love...we'll find a way to turn't around on'r...dun you worry...we're 'ere together..."

He slipped his hand into hers and squeezed it tightly. His thumb rubbed over the back of her hand as he slowly stared out forward at nothing.

Kas gripped her tightly and warmly as he looked at the unconscious woman thoughtfully and mused in a whisper.

"I wonder if'n tha thing on m'ship was that girl a'yers and tha man...d'ya think they'd 'urt e'eryone in tha village?"

He looked to Ridell and gently pushed some of her hair out of her face and behind her long ear.

"Jan can't control'm if shes in you, ya?"
