Kas growled as he felt the ground rumble as well and glared up into Janine's face. His hands stopped tightening but they didn't let go either. He wanted her dead so badly...

"W-we can't j'st...let'r live Ridell..."

Despite his words, his grip did loosen just a little more, but still he held Janine up in the air just a few inches from the ground. His face was finally controlling into anger and pain as he realized he might have to let her live. The only person in the world that could stop him was standing behind Janine.

"Wha do we do...?"

Janine was grinning slightly, as Rid growled under her breath

"Let her go.. We'll leave her here.."

Rids grip tightened on her dagger, as she suddenly stabbed it into one of her legs and she flinched, her scream caught in her throat

"Im not wasting the life I could be living with you because of this bitch.."

With a slight growl, Kas let go of Janine, letting her crumble to the ground. He looked down at her, his eyes still flashing with blood lust.

"Y'been damn grateful ta her..she's the only reas'n y'get to live..."

He knelt down and grabbed Janine's chin and stared into her eyes.

"If I see ya anywhere near Rid'll again...she aint gonna be able ta save ya again...and so 'elp me...if we find out y'did have a brat of mine...we'll be come'n for'm or her. Got it?"

Rid was watching her closely, the ground stopped shaking for now, as she pulled the dagger from her leg and tossed it at rids feet, making her jump back a little

-"Be out of this area in 10 minutes.. or else I'll kill you both"-

She didnt seem to care about his threat

Kas wondered only for a moment if they were doing the right thing...and if Janine would really let them live. The moment past swiftly and he ran over to Ridell, scooping her up into his arms and jumping right up through the hole Janine had made, without ever looking back.

He held Ridell close to him as he made for the beach where the broken docks were...and the Green Dawn.

"Ridell...j'st hang'n..."

His mind flashed to the man Ridell had come with and felt a small bit of jealously that stayed his tongue. He knew Kelterra would most likely already be gone from the island.

Rid could sense Kel long gone, but Mikal on the other hand.. she wasnt sure, she hoped he was still alive.

She held onto Kas as he ran, the rain had stopped luckily, but off in the distance, they could hear crashes as trees began to fall over one by one.

She hoped she could figure out a cure.. if Jan died with the island, she would have to on her own

Kas leapt without grace over rocks and trees, soon reaching the black sanded beach. He ran so fast he kicked up sad behind them like a dust trail until they reached the line of broken docks.

One dock seemed almost well kept if it wasn't for all of the dirt, grime and muck covering it. Kas didn't slow as he carried Ridell up the slick wood and they soon reached the end of the dock...where no ship was waiting.

Rid just kept her eyes closed, until he stopped, and she looked around, seeing them at the end of the dock ,but there was no ship.

She looked around a bit more confused

"Kas..?"

She said, finally looking up at him

Kas looked at her, like all was lost...until that slow, charming grin cracked over his lips.

"Wan ta see someth'n neat...?"

He looked to the dark green waves and gently set her on her feet next to him. He kept one arm around him and pointed out to the water. His eyes closed for a moment then from deep within the depths something started bubbling.

He could hear the crashing trees and ground cracking getting closer as the Green Dawn, looking as if it had aged a thousand years slowly rose out of the water. It's deck was cleared completely and as it bobbed int he water he looked at Ridell and smirked.

"Y'dun still get seasick d'ya?"

Rid watched the ship, and at his question, grinned

"I have.. well.. had my own ship since you've been gone love.. I learned how to not be"

She smirked a bit, and looked at the boat, feeling the dock suddenly shake

"Lets get going!"

The dock then broke apart, sending them both into the water, and she began to swim towards the ship

Kas had a moment to raise his eyebrow before they were plunged into the water. He flailed a bit before swimming after her. He caught up soon enough and grabbed the back of her tunic and took a breath. They both flew out of the water and landed on the deck of the ship and he muttered.

"Been ages since I g't t'fly...if'n'ya had y'r own ship luv...then y'best take ta the ropes and keep our sails full mast!"

He ran up to the wheel and started turning the ship away from the island. Unseen to either of them, two very dark shadows lept from the island and slipped through the hull of the ship to hide deep inside of it.

Rid began to pull at different ropes one after the other, with force her small body shouldnt have.

The sails were raised and tied off, so that they could pick up the wind, which was getting worse.

After she tied off the last one, she slid to her knees, leaning against the railing.

Her muscles, her bones, everything was hurting to the core

Kas did his best not to look at the deck and to Ridell, with all his heart he wanted to run down to her and hold her, but he had to get them away and safe if they were ever to have a future. He spun the wheel this way and that, avoiding unseen rocks they he knew were there as the island continued to collapse and the rock spires started to quake and rock in their places.

The ship sailed the same route Ridell and the others had taken in, only in reverse. This time however, there were no voices and the clouds above them were slowly clearing up...but the waters churned energetically and the huge rock spires threatened to topple and some did at the start of the long stretch that left to the open ocean.

Rid stayed looking down at the deck, she wasnt even sure if they could make it out, and if they did, she wasnt sure how much longer she would live without the cure.

In her mind she was working hard, thinking of different mixes of herbs that could help her with this.

She forced herself to her feet and stumbled over to Kas, hugging him from behind, leaning on him quite a bit, listening to his heart beat. That was the main reason she was there in the first place, and it calmed her down

Despite how hard he gripped the wheel as the boat was tossed about, he placed one hand on Ridell's arm as she hugged him. He felt the smaller arm and he was taken back for a moment, to one night in Booty Bay that they lay together. It was only in his mind for a moment before it was forced away but a wave crashing on deck as another spire fell.

"A'most through Rid...j'st hold'n love..."

The ship slowed as the island collapsed in on itself falling to the depths and creating a suction, but the ship wasn't a normal ship any longer. There was something supernatural about it's speed as it pulled away and finally shot out into open and mostly calm ocean. The last of the spires fell into the waves as if the evil of the island tired to claw it's way back up before finally being defeated.

Rid was hugging him tightly, nuzzling his back a bit until they were finally out of that cursed place. She felt a bit better being out of it, but everything was still hurting, from the magic, from the poison, she had to figure something out soon..

She said quietly to him

"Find a village love.. anywhere.. "

Kas closed his eyes, getting lost in thought and navigation. When he opened them again they were set on course for a place he had not been for more years than he could remember and wasn't even sure how he remembered where it was at all. The small fishing port he and his family had lived for generations.

He turned around slowly in her arms and pulled her close to him.

"Cloest place ain far...a day or so...if even tha...it's a'right now love...I think m'start'n to remember some things..."

She nodded a little sadly, not liking the fact he forgot in the first place, but he couldnt help it.

She nuzzled to his chest, hugging him a bit tighter

"Everything will be okay soon.."

She said quietly, as if trying to reassure herself

"Itll be okay.."

Kas's hands rubbed her back gently and he tried to smile down at her through his scraggly beard. He wanted desperately to remember everything he could but he had no idea why he lost his memory or how to get it back.

"It sure will be love...j'st you an me f'r awhile...ain noth'n g'nna bother us...j'st you and me..."

Rid hugged him a bit tighter still, just leaning on him almost fully, trying to relax, trying to not think about the cure until they docked.

She just wanted to stay there with him for now, just relax in his arms.

"Kas.. I missed you so much.."

His hands rubbed her back slowly and gently as the sea air seemed almost clearer now. He breathed deeply of it as he whispered.

"M'sorry all this 'appened cause of me...an y'came aft'r me...y'r j'st amaze'n Rid...amaze'n..."

He leaned down and kissed her deeply his heart suddenly pounding loudly in his chest and his ears at being so close and feeling so passionate towards her.

Her voice was lost in the sudden kiss, those lips, she had missed them so badly as she hugged him tighter and kissed him back, feeling tears well up in her eyes from it.

Although everything was still hurting, she seemed to forget, even just for a little bit

Kas' hands slowly moved to cup each of her cheeks and he deepened the kiss. The sun became just a little brighter warming their skin. Her lips were so soft and wonderful and if he were able and not concerned about how weak she was, he'd have kissed her for all time.

Slowly and reluctantly he broke the kiss and started into her eyes, a little breathless from the passion of it. He grinned slowly as one of the elusive memories returned to him and he whispered.

"Y'always were tha best kiss'r I e'er kiss'd...cept tha goblin lass...she was...crazy good..."

He grinned at her feeling a little more himself to be able to make jokes.

Rid looked up at him, and smiled at the joke, she missed them, no matter how lame she thought they were.

She closed her eyes a bit tighter, and looked down at her arm, which looked like it was starting to almost burn and she swore beneath her breath, quickly rushing down and to a shaded part of the ship.

She shouldnt have any problems with the sun..

Kas frowned worriedly as he saw her arm and turned to follow her down but realized one of them had to stay at the wheel and keep them moving. He continued to frown as he thought about his love and how much they had been through so far.

A very odd and old voice seemed to come from the darkness it self almost as soon as Ridell got out of the sun. It was very faint, so small it could have been easily unheard.
