Oceans of blue

Rid blinked in surprise, looking around at hearing the voice, her arm shaking slightly from the pain of the sun

"Whos there?!?"

Her first thought was Janine, and she growled, baring her teeth almost instantly

Rid started at the goblet, picking it up, taking a deep scent of it. She recognized it but couldnt quite place it.

She shook her head, simply dropping the goblet

"Ive learned not to just take drinks.."

She spoke to the darkness

"Either show yourself or go away"

From the shadows, a disembodied hand appeared and caught the goblet, and set it gently down on the barrel. The voice spoke again, as the hand disappeared.

="Drink...you didn't have a problem before..."=

The cargo hold seemed to brighten as the shadows receded and sunlight poured down into the opening suddenly as if something had been filling the room with shadow.

Kas had worried enough. He couldn't stop himself. They had been apart so long and he could remember so little...he lashed the wheel with rope to keep it on course and hoped the wind and sea wouldn't push them too far off course.

He moved across the deck and made his way slowly into the hold and blinked as he saw Ridell drinking a goblet he didn't remember being on the ship.

"R'dell?"

Nearly dropping the glass, she turned to look at him, wiping some of the fresh blood from her lips, her eyes red just from the scent of it

"There is.. was.. someone else.. on the ship.."

She looked down at the almost drained goblet

"I dont know.. if its friendly.. but.."

Kastorin looked around with a worried glance. The Green Dawn had been changed thanks to Janine and Kelterra. Linked to him magically somehow in ways he didn't fully understand. He could sense most everything on the ship, Ridell shown like a beacon in front of him, but he sensed no one else...and if there was someone else they had to be powerful...he dared not to think of who it could be.

"R-right...well ain much we c'n do bout it anyway...kinda in tha middle of the sea an all..."

He walked up to her and sniffed a bit at the goblet.

"A'most smells like tha guy y'ad with'ya..."

He frowned, pushing back memories of Mikal and what he had done to the poor man.

She blinked, sniffing at the blood again, narrowing her eyes

"Mikal.."

She thought he was dead, but then she remembered Kel was back there as well, could she have saved him?

She looked around, not seeing that darkness anymore

"..wierd.."

Kas raised his eyebrow and leaned on the barrel, looking her over and clearly a bit more worried about her, than having a stowaway.

"Y'dun think onna them turn'd'm d'ya? Or...was'e a'ready turn'd by...you?"

Rid shook her head

"I refused to bite him.. He gave me some blood.. "

She held up the goblet in her hand

"In a glass.."

She hadnt recognized the voice, because he was barely able to speak before. She shook her head again and looked at Kas

"I think it was Kel"

Kas frowned deeply and shook his head, clearly not liking the idea but slowly he just sighed and looked around the empty hold.

"A'least they dun seem t'mean us any harm...Kel 'ad a thing f'you dinna she?"

He looked to Ridell finally, unable to hide a small grin, just seeing here there with him in the same place made him happy.

"Well after I was first turned I went on a bit of a feeding frenzy and she got turned in the process so she calls me mistress and.."

She saw the small smirk on his lips, and smirked a little herself

"It doesnt matter.. she wasnt herself at the island.. She wouldnt harm me on purpose"

Rid was feeling quite a bit better, and walked over to him, hugging him tightly

Smiling a bit more, Kas slipped his arms around her and hugged her close to him. He took a deep breath, savoring her scent and smiling all the more.

"I see...seems like whoe'er gets turn'd ends up in tha service of who turns'm...but in our case...we're bit diffe'ent...guess love is a bit powerf'l...ya?"

He pulled just his head back so he could flash that grin of his at her.

Rid smirked a bit at him, leaning her head onto his shoulder, then thought for a moment

"whos steering the ship?"

She gave him a slightly worried look at the thought of him just leaving it unattended

"I still need to fix this.."

"Oh..er...well...I g't some very intelli'ent ropes steer'n us uhm...thattaway"

He jerked a thumb towards the front of the ship.

"I j'st...w's worried bout ya...and want'd to check on ya...waves aint too bad so w'should still be on course..."

The expression on his face was clearly one of worry and concern about her as he hugged her a bit tighter and grinned in his way.

She hugged him back and closed her eyes with a deep sigh, she had wanted for so long to be in his arms again, yet now all she could think about was the poison.

She whispered quietly

"I lost you for a long time Kas.. I dont want to be separated from you again.."

"Y'think some lil poison is g'nna keep's apart? Jan couldn't e'en do that 'r tha long...na when w'got f'ever..."

He smiled at her, but he was starting to look a bit weak himself from the whole ordeal, and was clearly pushing himself more than he should be, but he wouldn't let that stop him.

"List'n...tha place we're go'n...we ..well...I g'tta be rela caref'l...I mean...it's been like...fifty years 'r someth'n since I been here but...we're go'n ta where I was born..."

Rid smiled half heartedly at his comment, knowing the poison would kill her eventually.

She nodded to him

"That should be interesting"

She slowly pulled away, and moved back up onto deck. The sun made her squint quite a bit, the wind calm

Kas followed her, always just a step behind as he was worried she would trip or stumble. He blinked a few times at the sun.

"Sun's 'appy t'day...y'should get a tan..."

He grinned a bit and caught her hand to squeeze it, before quietly going back to the wheel and checked their course and unlashed it to fix their direction a bit. He looked up at the sky and saw it was getting to be late afternoon, once night fell they'd be able to make much better time.

Kas caught her eye and grinned overly big at her, but it faded too as her's did. He thought she was just weak and tired so he looked up at the sails and frowned at the lack of wind. He looked down at her and called out.

"Wh'n night falls, I c'n use magic t'speed us up! Also! Dun puke on m'deck less y'r gonna clean it up!"

He tried to joke and keep her spirits up. He wanted to see that smile on her face again.
