Oceans of blue

Rid fell to the ground as she felt the fangs leave her neck. She didnt even look up until she heard Kas' voice. Janine turned quickly once she felt his hand, growling at him, her blood covered fangs baring

-"What the hell? You should just be a withering mass of fur still.."-

Rid slowly got up to her knees, obviously quite weakened now, not just from the bite, the poison, she felt it waring down her muscles, she felt so sore and so tired, like she hadnt slept in weeks.

"Tch..j'st dun turn'm like they used'ta huh?"

Kas's hands were stronger than ever, the potions Jan had been feeding him saw to that. Strong enough so he could kill Ridell. His hand shot out a punch to Janine's face as he said.

"Think'n we outta drain'r dry this time love!"

Janine was just fast enough to dodge the punch, as she fell to the side. Rid nodded weakly from the ground, until she coughed hard, coughing up more blood. The pain was spreading, her breathing was getting constricted.

She gripped at her chest as her eyes closed tightly.

Janine laughed

-"haha.. Oh Ive seen her like this before, I left her until she was almost dead.. Funny, I didnt kill her.. butttt.."-

Kas' eyes narrowed considerably, and burned bright red. His hands worked into fists as he walked towards Janine, trying to push her away from Ridell as he spoke.

"Ya le's talk a'out tha ya?"

His eyes were blazing with anger and murder as he kept on trying to intimidate and push her back.

"You kill'd our son eh? An y'think y'r gonna survive do'n someth'n like tha?"

One of his hands moved behind his back, and opened, to try and show Ridell he was wearing the ring...and she had to just hold on a little longer.

Rid just layed down where she was, seeing the ring, fighting the pain. She had to. Her head began to spin, she was trying so hard not to pass out. Janine backed up as Kas pushed her back, but her grin stayed

-"I was going to kill him with my dagger.. but I figured putting Rid through the slow pain of almost dying would of been better.. as she had done to me. "-

She glared a bit at Kas, finally getting a bit more serious

-"Shes going to die without an antidote or a healer. You realize that right? Look at her.. so weak.."-

Rid was by now curled up on her side, her eyes with a distant look in them, as she was fighting her own lungs for air

-"No wonder she couldnt protect your son"-

Kas' hand struck like lightening, catching Janine's throat, but only to hold her still and stop her from talking. With his other hand he pointed to where Mikal, throat bleeding and looking weak, was holding a dagger to Kelterra's throat.

"Heal'r. Now. Or tha only ones 'leave'n this place be me an tha guy. Y'c'n gloat after...but so 'elp me if R'd'll dies ya an y'r toy'll be 'eadless b'fore tha nights o'er!"

His grip got tighter waiting for her answer, his eyes seemed to be on fire, blazing with anger, hatred and malice. Something far more terrifying than The Nightmare.

Janine was taken off guard, gripping at his wrist as he spoke. She looked at Janine, and growled at Mikal, how dare he touch her..

One of her hands shakily reached into her pocket. For the first time in this area, there was a breeze, the faintest, but still a breeze. It made Rid open her eyes a little more.

Just that small feeling made her calm a bit.

Janine pulled out a vial, glaring at Kas.

-"T-Take it.."-

Without knowing if he was more powerful or not than Janine, Kas didn't seem to care. He snatched the vial, glaring at it then at Janine again. He let her go and called out.

"She tries anyth'n...kill tha girl."

Mikal's eye's settled on Jan. He was weak but the blade cut slightly into her neck. Kas slowly backed up until he was on the other side of Ridell...then finally looked down at her and knelt. He popped the cork out of the vial and whispered.

"Gunna have'ta hope this's tha right stuff..."

Almost as soon as Ridell emptied the vial, Kelterra's snake-like eye's opened and she grabbed Mikal's wrist, pulling the blade from her throat and biting deeply into his arm. He made a sound-less yelp and tried to pull away but she was just too strong. She hissed and grabbed him, pulling him into her lap and biting into his neck. Mikal struggled to fight back, but was soon unconscious again.

Kase didn't see or hear any of it, though he vaguely smelled Mikal's blood on the air, he was only concerned with Ridell. His hand moved behind her to help her sit up and he asked quietly.

"Feel'n bett'r?"

Rid didnt answer, but she leaned against him, pressing close, pressing her ear to his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

Something so simple.. yet she felt tears in her eyes. She missed the sound so. His voice.. everything.

She whispered

"I thought .. I had lost you.."

Kas held her close. It was still hard for him to remember most things. She had weakened the beast enough he was able to steal Mikal when everyone's attention was elsewhere. He fed on the man and there was something strange in his blood. Some sort of emotion for Ridell that brought back Kas' own feelings.

Love. He knew that feeling well now. He remembered it clearly that Ridell had stolen his heart and he never tried to get it back. The ring was something incredibly important. It held the biggest memory of all for him. That he could not live without her, nor she without him. The rest of his memories just didn't matter.

"It'll be a'right now R'd'll..."

He wasn't sure if that was true or not, but he slowly looked up at Janine.

"Was this wha y'ad in mind?"

Kelterra drank deeply of Mikal's blood. It was old and tasted like it but she didn't care. She felt his heartbeat slow almost to death and she just dropped him to the ground as she stood. She shuddered deeply from the taste of fresh blood nonetheless. Her forked tongue flicked over her lips, tasting the air and she slowly made her way behind Kas and Ridell.

She felt her strength slowly coming back to her, and was able to sit up a bit more under her own power, but still leaned on him, just for the closeness. The wind was slowly picking up

-"You'll both die soon enough.."-

She looked up at the cloudy skies, which had began to swirl slowly. She grinned widely at Kel soon after

-"You're basically fighting alone Kas.. shes too weak on this island.. Even once my poisons pain is gone, she will stay weak from the darkness."-

Kas growled slightly at Jan, his eyes narrowing. He wasn't willing to let Ridell go just yet...not until she was a bit stronger. But he'd not get the chance. Kelterra laughed with glee as she grabbed him from behind and pulled him away from her, pinning his arms up in the air and holding him with strength even she shouldn't have thanks to the snake potion coursing in her veins.

He cursed himself for not paying better attention, but he was ignoring the beast whose instincts and senses were much keener. He fought to break free but she was just too strong.

~="Nooo...we won't kill them both...I wantsssss a new pet...."=~

Kelterra's predatory eyes landed on Ridell with a wide grin.

Ridell glared at Kel

"Dont even think.. about it you.. slithering.. wench!"

Jan stepped forward, going to kick Rid in the stomach for insulting Kel, but Rid was just faster, moving out of the way. She seemed to have her speed, but not her strength.

She rushed over to Jan, her dagger in hand, but just before reached her, a huge bolt of lightning engulfed her body, and Rid backed off, covering her eyes from the light.

As it dissapeared, Jan was just standing there, grinning at her.

She looked to Kas, who was being held in place, she didnt know what to do

Kas stopped struggling and looked at Ridell with the same look. He tried desperately to remember bits and pieces of things that might help them. Behind him he could hear Kelterra hiss in pleasure.

~=" We kill thisssss one..."=~

She jerked Kas a bit and he grunted.

~="And we turn that one...yessss?"=~

She motioned with her chin to Ridell then looked to Janine for confirmation of their new plan.

Janine nodded slowly to Kel, but as soon as she did, Rids hand was on her belt, pulling out a vial that she threw at Kelterra. A weak acid, but it would still hurt quite a bit.

Seconds later, Janine had a sword out, and was swinging at Rid

-"Maybe the other way around.. This one has too much fight in her.."-

Rid growled and suddenly she faded into the shadows.

Janine grinned and looked around, not being able to see her

-"You'd better come out soon.. or we will kill him.."-

As the vial flew at them, Kas threw his head back against Kelterra's and tried somewhat successfully to turn Kelterra towards it. The vial hit and shattered against the snake girl's side and burned away her dress easily enough but it only served to make the smell of burned skin assault Kas' nose.

He suddenly started talking, very low.

"Y'r Kelt'rra ya?...Dun y'love Rid'll?...How c'n y'do this to'r? Y'eard tha witch...she wan's ta kill'r..."

Kelterra hissed angrily in his ear.

~="Sssshe will not....ssshe is mine..."=~

Kas was quick to respond while he had the chance.

"Jan dun care...she did alla this to get'r here ya? Come'n...dun let'r do this..."

The woman hissed and growled slightly holding Kas a little tighter, but she yelled out.

~="We turnssss Ridell! Kill the man!"=~

She did nothing to that effect hwoever, waiting for Janine's response.

"Y'see...smell't Kel? She aint gonna let ya 'ave'r..."

Kelterra growled and hissed as she squeezed Kas tightly enough he felt his arms start to pop out of their sockets. She flicked out her tongue, tasting the air and felt shivers run down her spine. Some part of her was trying to tell her he was right, but the newer part of her told her she'd never have Ridell unless she just killed them both, but Jan was far too powerful for her to fight alone...

She hissed in a whisper then...

~="We kill her....together ssssshe diessss..."=~

Kas only nodded, not understanding or remembering enough to know Kelterra would just try and kill him afterwords but she let him go. As soon as his feet hit the ground and he shrugged his shoulders back in place, he charged at Janine.

Janine turned quickly, her blade aimed directly for Kas' chest, but in a moment Rid was there, and knocked her blade away, as Janine slowly began to back up, realizing Kel had turned on her

-"Kel! Whats going on? We're supposed to be doing this together!!"-

Rid was glaring, and growling low

"Youve taken so much away from me.. Im going to make sure you die slowly and painfully.. and this time.. I wont stop until your hearts stopped beating"

Kelterra grinned slowly. Deep inside she knew this wasn't really what she wanted. That it wasn't who she really was, but she wanted Ridell so badly and this voice was so powerful when she was like this, there was little she could do but scream and yell inside her own mind.

~="Sssooo sssssorry...but I can't have my pet if you kill them..."=~

Kas was glad for Ridell. More so than ever as she knocked the blade aside. He was weaponless, but he didn't care. His fists were balled and he was ready to tear Janine limb from limb.

~="Unlessss of course...you were to let me make a pet of you insssstead...."=~

Janine weighed her options in her mind quickly.

She had very few by now, and growled low.

-"Even if you killed me, you would be poisoned, your antidote only deals with the pain, but it doesnt make it go away, you would rot slowly.."-

"Its worth it if you die.."

She continued to step forward, growling beneath her breath. Janine glared, and finally looked to Kel

-"You are my servant, I order you to kill this girl.."-

Kelterra's eyes fell on Janine's. She grinned slowly but her mind was in turmoil. Her real self didn't want anyone to die. She loved all three of them in different ways. The snake mind wanted to obey her, for she had the power to keep it in control all of the time, and Kelterra couldn't resist the feelings it evoked in her as she changed...but Kelterra's true self was not a slave to Janine...in fact it was the other way around.

In what you could call a moment of weakness...or a moment of clarity, Kelterra pointed at Janine. Her voice changed slightly to her normal voice.

="I am the one who turned you...you are compelled to do asss I order...you've been working on a ssssolution to the rot...give it to Rrridell...let her live...and I will stop them...and go with you...."=

Kas spun around to look at Kelterra not about to let that happen, but the ring n his finger seemed to call attention to him and he looked to see what Ridell was thinking.

Janine blinked. Kel hadnt said anything like that before. She listened and followed every order. Rid looked back and forth between them, unsure of what to say.

Janine growled low, until suddenly lightning struck all of them, not doing anything to Jan, but Rid screamed out as the heat of it passed through her, and collapsed moments after, feeling every muscle in her body twitching

-"I'll just kill you all then.."-
